“I used to struggle with eating sweet things when I was stressed. I’d be disciplined for weeks, but the moment pressure hit, I’d fall off the wagon.
Even after years of eating healthy, I’d still look forward to treat days and end up overindulging.
I kept yo-yoing. Although my health got better, I was stuck when it came to losing weight.
Whilst meditating this month, a scripture came to mind:
Genesis 3:6:
“And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes… she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat…”
Then it hit me: I was believing a lie — that treats and sweets were better than healthy food.
They look pleasant, but they kill.
I remembered Dammy once said, “Sugar is dead. Deader than dead.” It finally clicked.
These things don’t give life.
It’s been two weeks, and I can’t believe I hear the ice cream van and feel nothing.
I’m not even tempted.
Now I see it. Most food ads and supermarket setups are designed to trap us.
First thing that greets you — croissants, bakeries, sweets.
Now my perspective has shifted. I no longer idolize treats.
I’ve started losing weight again.
This time, I will win.”
